Tell your rep to vote no on The American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009

Tell your rep to vote no on The American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009. Below is a copy of my letter to Congressman Polis of Colorado:

Dear Congressman Polis,

I am asking you to vote no on The American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009. There are virtually no provisions to keep this from driving up the cost of living significantly for every family (even the poorest) in America. It will hamstring small to large businesses and with other Democratic legislation on the table could even cripple business in America.

I'm appealing to your good sense as a successful businessman to see what this will do to our nation. Only 24% of Americans know what it is and have no idea what you will potentially be voting for. Gallup and Rasmussen polls prove that the American public wants you and congress to focus on the economy first, not the environment and this is the wrong time for this type of legislation. The American Clean Energy and Security Act does nothing to curtail the world's worst polluters and our carbon contribution is infinitesimal when compared to them.

The priority of congress should be economic recovery, not environmental legislation that will deepen and lengthen the current economic crisis.

I hope that you will vote as a prudent businessman who truly understands the priority of what needs to be done now and what won't further harm your constituents.

Sincerely,

Guy Pacot
